Summer on Stage is an intensive training program that culminates in a fully realized production performed on the main stage of the Legacy Theater Company. School of the Arts staff and professional teachers lead students through a variety of theatre classes that contribute to an experience that prepares young people for a creative and engaged life in the arts or in any field!

Summer on Stage participants, in addition to their class work with their Summer on Stage peers, will be mentored by LTC staff in hands-on workshop sessions that will prepare them to show off their talents on stage in front of full audiences.

The first week of Summer on Stage is devoted to community building and audition preparation; we cast our shows by the middle of that first week. The next few weeks of the program are split between theater games and rehearsals. Our week is spent in full rehearsals onstage as we incorporate all of our technical elements – set, lighting, costumes, sound, and props – on our way toward our celebratory evening performances at the end of the program.

Everyone's favorite practically perfect nanny takes the stage in this Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious musical adventure.

Our 2017 Summer on Stage theater camp presents The Broadway Musical, MARY POPPINS.

One of the most popular Disney movies of all time is capturing hearts in a whole new way: as a practically perfect musical! Based on the books by P.L. Travers and the classic Walt Disney film, Disney and Cameron Mackintosh's Mary Poppins delighted Broadway audiences for over 2,500 performances and received nominations for nine Olivier and seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical.

The jack-of-all trades, Bert, introduces us to England in 1910 and the troubled Banks family. Young Jane and Michael have sent many a nanny packing before Mary Poppins arrives on their doorstep. Using a combination of magic and common sense, she must teach the family members how to value each other again. Mary Poppins takes the children on many magical and memorable adventures, but Jane and Michael aren't the only ones upon whom she has a profound effect. Even grown-ups can learn a lesson or two from the nanny who advises that "Anything can happen if you let it."

Mary Poppins is an enchanting mixture of irresistible story, unforgettable songs, breathtaking dance numbers and astonishing stagecraft.

We are doing the FULL BROADWAY version of Mary Poppins, and are so excited to bring this masterpiece to Legacy's Summer on Stage!

Students ages 8-18 are welcome to join us this summer as we STEP IN TIME in one of our TWO summer camps!!!

Mary Poppins is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).  All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI. www.MTIShows.com
